Paul Pester is a prominent figure in the UK and international financial services sector, with over 25 years of experience in leading and developing consumer financial enterprises. His career has focused on using technology and innovation to increase competition and consumer benefits in financial services, as evidenced by his advisory role to the UK Chancellor of the Exchequer and HM Treasury on banking competition issues. Paul has been involved in the establishment, growth, and digital transformation of several financial institutions.
Currently, Paul serves as Chair of Tandem Bank, a digital challenger bank in the UK, and Cardeo, a fintech company focused on the credit card market. He is also a Non-Executive Director at the National Bank of Bahrain, where he advocates for digital growth and international expansion. Additionally, he co-founded Archie Growth, a FinTech accelerator with a global perspective.
Paul was the first Group Chief Executive Officer of Virgin Money, where he launched one of the UK's first digital consumer financial services businesses.
